Mailing
Your Resume

Use 9" x 12" catalog envelopes for a
professional presentation when mailing your resume. These envelopes allow
you to mail your resume and cover letter without folding. When your
submission arrives at its destination, the documents will lie flat on the
desk and will look a heck of a lot better than the same documents with a
couple of nasty-looking folds with unreadable lines of text (if the folds
fall on a line of text).
If you're only mailing a few copies of
your resume, Priority Mail is a good investment. Makes a nice impact on the
recipient without the overkill (or expense) of overnight delivery. You can
stock up on Priority Mail envelopes at the Post Office - they're free. If
you use the 9-1/2 x 12-1/2 cardboard ones rather than the larger flimsy
Tyvek ones, you can slide the 9" x 12" envelope containing your resume and
cover letter right in.
